Welcome to The Cowboy Accountant

Thanks for joining me on this journey through the American West, the cowboy way of life, and my constant personal journey to be the best person I can be.  I was asked why I started writing as The Cowboy Accountant. In my professional travels from the horse country of California, to Texas, to the vast open range of Colorado and Wyoming, and back home to Texas again, I have been fortunate to learn about the unique history of the American West. The more I’ve learned about the men (and women) who work the ranches of the American West, the more I recognized the similarities between the ideals of the American cowboy and those of my own: a celebration of the western way of life, the positive impact the ways of the cowboy can have on modern society and business, a recognition of the authentic partnership between a horse and rider, and the common bond of mankind coming together around these ideals.

I write about the unique history of the American West, the ways and wisdom of the cowboy, and what I think each of us can learn from how these American heroes go about providing food for the world while preserving the legacy of the American West. When I write about cowboys, it’s either about the cowboys of the old west or the cowboys and cowgirls of today. See, cowboy is a state of mind of authenticity and grit and compassion. And, in a world that needs more cowboys, I use the term as a compliment to the men and women I am fortunate to encounter.

My hope for the future is to continue to preserve, promote and protect the legacy of the working cowboy and our western heritage in both my professional and personal life.

My thoughts here are one way to do that. ★
